Job description:

Work with the Application Software Development (ASD) Division for database related activities on assigned projects. Write SQL Server queries and conduct backend development for assigned projects.  Develop procedures and scripts. Develop, implement, and optimize stored procedures and functions using SQL for assigned Applications. Designs, creates, and maintains databases in a client/server environment. Develop scripts for migration of application data. Review and interpret ongoing business report requirements to develop high quality database solutions.
 
  • Expert knowledge of the Structured Query Language (SQL)environment with particular emphasis on planning, analysis, design, and implementation of reports and report interfaces intended for the end user.
  • Develop procedures and scripts for data migration.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize stored procedures and functions using SQL.
  • Review and interpret ongoing business report requirements to develop high quality database solutions.
  • Research required data for analysis.
  • Assists with activities related to the design and administration of databases.
  • Designs, creates, and maintains databases in a client/server environment.
  • Familiarity with the use of SSIS and linked servers
  
Responsibilities:
 
  1. Provides all activities related to the administration of computerized databases.
  2. Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function.
  3. Designs, creates, and maintains databases in a client/server environment.
  4. Conducts quality control and auditing of databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data.
  5. Advises users on access to various client/server databases.
  6. Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases with respect to Job Control Language (JCL), access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.
  7. Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end (e.g., Cognos)/back-end programming languages (e.g., Structured Query Language (SQL).
  8. Performs database programming and supports systems design.
  9. Additional duties include maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design.
 
 
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements:
 
Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience

Compensation: $53.00 per hour
